Haunting, impalpable, immensely beautiful, the work of photographer Anita Chernewski stirs deep within the soul -- a poignancy of life, a mingling of reality upon illusion, the evanescence of time.

We see through Anita's eyes the potency of childhood illusion, the Coney Island of yesteryear, her wild animal tableaus so powerful and yet so dreamlike -- for they come not from the jungles of Africa but the magical dioramas of the American Museum of Natural History.
